Edward Sweezy Sanford's father was Elam Sanford, issue from Titus Sanford, and his mother was Jerusha Larkin, from John Bloodgood Larkin and Sarah Mallory, a descendant of Nathaniel Foote, b. 1593, d. ca 1644.

Edward Sweezy Sanford was a Civil War veteran, enlisting in Company B, 133rd Regiment, Illinois Infantry, organized by his brother in Jacksonville, IL. He was under age and enlisted only for 90 days. By profession, he engraved head stones (monuments).

Mary Katherine Kingsley was an 8th generation Kingsley, the daughter of Edmund Bancroft Kingsley and Mary Goodrich Hollis.
